SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]

This week’s top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports — the leader in odds and score predictions.

⚽ Manchester City vs Tottenham
šŸŸ English Premier League
Saturday 23 August; 13:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: While the odds don’t exactly scream ā€œextreme valueā€, Man City does have an undeniably large edge in this game.

  • CXSports says: Man City kicked off this season in the best possible way (a 4-0 opening victory), carrying on their recent run of averaging 3+ goals per match. And let’s not forget about their consistent home record (13 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses). Nice. As for Tottenham, they’re not doing too bad either (3-0 opening victory over Burnley), but, if we’re completely honest, they’re playing on a completely different level, particularly on the road (5W-2D-12L on the road). In short, while Tottenham might have a chance to net a goal at some point, they’ve got almost zero chance of stopping Manchester City from netting many.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Manchester City

Option #1

  • Bet: Manchester City Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.20-1.49

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.48-1.67

⚽ Bournemouth vs Wolves
šŸŸ English Premier League
Saturday 23 August; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: These odds are great value when you consider Bournemouth’s sizeable advantage here.

  • CXSports says: Even if they opened this season with a loss, we should still assume Bournemouth are in a (relatively) good spot right now. After a record-breaking 2024-25 season in which they scored 58 goals while only conceding 46, while retaining several of their key attackers, there’s good reason to believe they’ll perform (relatively) decently this season. Wolves, on the other hand, didn’t have a great season last year, so it’s much harder to dismiss their 0-4 defeat in this season’s opener as ā€œjust a bad game played by an otherwise decent teamā€. Throw Bournemouth’s home advantage on top of all that, and the likely victor is clear.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Bournemouth

Option #1

  • Bet: Bournemouth Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.60-1.83

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.51-1.70

⚽ Brentford vs Aston Villa
šŸŸ English Premier League
Saturday 23 August; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: If you believe that history has a way of repeating itself, then the double-chance play here is hard to ignore.

  • CXSports says: Aston Villa's on a run at Brentford (4W-3D in their last 7 head-to-heads on Brentford’s turf). And it’s hard to ignore their summer performance — in particular, their 4-0 demolition of Roma. With that said, Brentford is not without its threats, and their sharp forward line could push Villa to take more risks than they would otherwise want, which could make for an interesting game. In short, edge to Villa with a chance of a draw.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Aston Villa or Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Draw / Villa)

  • Odds Range: 1.27-1.38

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.52-1.71

⚽ Burnley vs Sunderland
šŸŸ English Premier League
Saturday 23 August; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Not the surest thing this week, but definitely some of the better odds on offer that don’t require backing anything too crazy.

  • CXSports says: Are we watching the EPL or the Championship here? Both sides, freshly promoted this season, finished last season’s Championship season strongly (they did get promoted, after all). What set them apart (and this is no small difference) was their goal-scoring/conceding habits. Burnley, for its part, scored 69 while conceding just 16. Meanwhile, Sunderland scored a respectable 58, but conceded a massive 44 in the process. That alone should speak volumes about this game.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Burnley

Option #1

  • Bet: Burnley Victory

  • Odds Range: 2.01-2.42

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.80-1.99

SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]

⚽ Arsenal vs Leeds
šŸŸ English Premier League
Saturday 23 August; 18:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This might be the surest thing all week. And, if it is, then those odds are really nice.

  • CXSports says: We were tempted to just write ā€œlolā€ and leave it at that for this prediction. But maybe we’ve got some readers who aren’t up to speed with the EPL yet. So let us fill you in. Leeds are freshly promoted to the top flight this year. Arsenal finished last season in #2. If you think the fresh-faced promotee has a chance, then more power to you — just don’t expect us to take the same stand. Arsenal all the way.

  • Score prediction: 2-0 for Arsenal

Option #1

  • Bet: Arsenal Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.13-1.29

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (No)

  • Odds Range: 1.63-1.83

⚽ Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest
šŸŸ English Premier League
Sunday 24 August; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: If you’re looking for some bigger odds this week, then backing a draw here might be a worthwhile play.

  • CXSports says: While it’s still too early to say with confidence where Crystal Palace will stand this season, one thing we do know is that they got their preseason off to a pretty good start (FA Cup champs). That should at least give them a small confidence boost coming into this season, and may even signal a leveling up. Will it be enough to stand up to Forest, who soared into 7th place last season? Maybe not entirely. But it might be enough to see this game play out on a very even footing.

  • Score prediction: 1-1 Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Draw

  • Odds Range: 3.13-3.50

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.60-1.84

⚽ Everton vs Brighton
šŸŸ English Premier League
Sunday 24 August; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: While there’s a risk it won’t pay off, there’s a pretty decent chance that Brighton will take this game comfortably, making these odds decent.

  • CXSports says: Brighton are coming into this match with some solid momentum, particularly as a consistently dangerous away side that’s capable of scoring 2+ goals regularly on the road. That could make them very dangerous here. Even more so given that Everton are still trying to find their rhythm in a new stadium. With that said, the head-to-head history is historically quite balanced, but still tilts slightly more towards Brighton, who, with their attack, have a small, but undeniable edge.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Brighton

Option #1

  • Bet: Brighton Victory

  • Odds Range: 2.00-2.50

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.65-1.80

⚽ Fulham vs Manchester United
šŸŸ English Premier League
Sunday 24 August; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Not our top pick for the week, but the double chance play here is still safe enough while offering decent enough odds that we’re still tempted by it.

  • CXSports says: Fulham should be coming into this match full of confidence after last season’s solid 54-point finish. But, with some key summer departures and minimal (significant) signings to take their place, last season's confidence could be significantly undercut in their first home game for the season. Of course, this isn’t to say Manchester United aren’t without their problems either (last season was shocking), but if they can get their act together, they may just be able to get the upper hand here. Although that’s a big ā€œmightā€. More likely, this ends in a draw.

  • Score prediction: 2-2 Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Draw

  • Odds Range: 3.20-3.65

Option #2

  • Bet: Double Chance (Draw / Man United)

  • Odds Range: 1.32-1.41
