+ the best EPL odds this week

Good Morning ā˜€ļø,

It’s Lucas here, your Chief Predictions Officer at What Are the Odds?

Everyone knows Arsenal’s had a bit of a rough patch lately.

You know it. I know it. Even Dublin Airport seems to know it, accusing Arsenal of doing a ā€œbottle jobā€ via this cheeky post on X.

What fewer people seem to know, however, is why exactly Arsenal are ā€œbottling itā€ so badly right now. Mikel Arteta (Arsenal head coach) just provided some answers:

And here’s what’s ahead in this week’s edition of What Are the Odds?

SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]

This week’s top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports — the leader in odds and score predictions.

⚽ Brighton vs Everton
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Saturday 31 Jan; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: A nice, solid double chance play to kick off the weekend.

  • CXSports says: Brighton is averaging roughly 1.5 goals per game this season, while Everton, as uneven as they’ve been, only manages around 1.1–1.3 goals per match. However, the balance here flips when we look at goals conceded — Brighton’s averaging 1.4 concede per game while Everton’s keeping things slightly tighter at 1.1 per game. That makes them solid enough to undermine Brighton’s clear attacking advantage. What’s also quite interesting here is Everton’s edge in past head-to-heads, particularly in recent times — the last 2 head-to-heads were both won by Everton. That should be enough to cast into doubt any thoughts about Brighton’s favorite status, even if they do, technically, still hold a slight edge.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Brighton or 1-1 Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Brighton / Draw)

  • Odds Range: 1.10-1.25

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.61-1.80

⚽ Leeds vs Arsenal
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Saturday 31 Jan; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: These are some great odds for a side with such a clear edge.

  • CXSports says: Arsenal’s offensive average of around 1.9 goals per game, while only conceding around 0.7, indicates they should have no problem controlling this game. Especially when the competition — Leeds — is only managing around 1.4 goals per game while conceding at a rate of 1.7 per game. And let’s not forget about Arsenal’s dominance in recent head-to-heads, which includes a crushing 5-0 hammering in 2025. Long story short — Arsenal’s better in every way.l

  • Score prediction: 1-3 for Arsenal

Option #1

  • Bet: Arsenal Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.38-1.60

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 1.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.15-1.31

⚽ Chelsea vs West Ham
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Saturday 31 Jan; 18:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Another fixture with a clearly-defined favorite that’s still attracting some solid odds.

  • CXSports says: This one’s simple. Chelsea scores more than Westham (1.6 vs 1.2 goals per game), concedes less (1.1 vs 2.0 goals per game), and has more or less completely dominated all recent head-to-head fixtures, including a 5-1 away victory last August. About the only thing West Ham has going in their favor is Jarrod Bowen. But let’s be honest here — one brilliant player can’t make up for a leaky defense and a so-so support squad. As such, don’t expect any miracles from West Ham here. This one’s Chelsea’s for the taking.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Chelsea

Option #1

  • Bet: Chelsea Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.30-1.57

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.51-1.69

⚽ Liverpool vs Newcastle
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Saturday 31 Jan; 21:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: While a little less sure than the last two, there’s still a clear argument for Liverpool here with some solid odds to back it up.

  • CXSports says: Newcastle’s defense has developed a habit recently of conceding multiple goals in high-level matches. That’s a bad sign for them coming up against a Liverpool side that’s consistently proven it can score at least 1.5 goals per game at home. It also doesn’t help Newcastle’s case knowing that, in the last five head-to-heads, Liverpool’s sitting on 3W and 1D against just one 1L. With that said, if we look at overall stats, there isn’t a world of difference between these two, so we can’t completely rule out the possibility of a Newcastle upset. However, if we simply look where it counts, Liverpool’s the clear favorite here.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Liverpool

Option #1

  • Bet: Liverpool Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.57-1.87

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.45-1.65

HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT

The last couple of weeks have certainly thrown a spanner in the EPL works. What looked like a certain Arsenal title suddenly looks like it could be contested.

But maybe we’re overestimating the present and not paying Arsenal their dues. After all, it’s hard to argue with a supercomputer model (updated this week) which is still tipping Arsenal to take the title by 8 points:

In either case, one thing remains unchanged — it’s been a long, dry spell for Arsenal in the EPL.

Let’s see if you know how long they’ve gone between titles with a quick quiz from our friends at Masters of Trivia.

Question: Arsenal last won the Premier League title in which season?

  • A: 1993-94

  • B: 2003-04

  • C: 2013-14

  • D: 2023-24

SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]

⚽ Aston Villa vs Brentford
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Sunday 01 Feb; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This one’s too much of a coin toss to really get behind, but if you like extra excitement, this one might be for you.

  • CXSports says: It’s hard to argue with Aston Villa’s overall performance so far this season — sitting comfortably in the top 3 is no small achievement. With that said, we can’t ignore the fact that it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing — their 1-0 loss against a visiting Everton side two weeks ago illustrates this perfectly. As for the cause, it’s largely a matter of efficiency — they can control the tempo, but they simply aren’t converting their chances at the rate they should be. That could be problematic against a Brentford side that can match them on the attack (they’ve both scored 35 goals this season), and doesn’t find itself too far behind on the defense. Maybe not enough to matter, but worth keeping in mind nonetheless.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Aston Villa

Option #1

  • Bet: Aston Villa Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.75-2.02

Option #2

  • Bet: Double Chance (Draw / Brentford)

  • Odds Range: 1.65-1.91

⚽ Man United vs Fulham
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Sunday 01 Feb; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: If you believe United’s recent results aren’t just a fluke, then this one’s a must-watch.

  • CXSports says: Man United’s recent swing (including victories against Arsenal and Man City) is starting to look like less of a fluke, and more like the fruits of a concerted effort by Carrick since he took the reins. That’s got to be disconcerting for a Fulham squad which, until recently, was clearly at a competitive level against United. Of course, nothing’s certain, and it’s still early days, so we might be jumping the gun a little here. However, if Carrick can keep up whatever it is he’s been up to, Man United should take this one without breaking too much of a sweat.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Man United

Option #1

  • Bet: Man United Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.42-1.63

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.57-1.77

⚽ Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Sunday 01 Feb; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Honestly, we’re probably skipping this one ourselves, even if Forest does look promising.

  • CXSports says: With Forest in 17th and Palace in 15th, this isn’t exactly a battle of the heavyweights here. And neither team really stands out on paper, either. Forest is slightly worse in defense (34 conceded vs 28 conceded by Palace). And they are barely keeping up with Palace in offense (23 scored vs 24 scored by Palace). But at this level, these differences are marginal. What might make more of an impact in this game is pure psychology. Between its home advantage and the high-stakes pressure to get clear of the drop zone, Forest might just manage to eke out a narrow victory here.

  • Score prediction: 1-0 for Nottingham Forest

Option #1

  • Bet: Nottingham Forest Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.73-2.01

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Under 2.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.02-1.08

⚽ Tottenham vs Man City
šŸŸļø English Premier League
Sunday 01 Feb; 17:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: A solid pick with some decent odds to close out the weekend.

  • CXSports says: Tottenham’s in 14th place, haven’t won a single game in recent memory, and are barely managing to keep their goals scored/conceded in balance. Man City, by contrast, is locked in a fierce battle for the top of the table and has scored more than double the goals it’s conceded. That should be enough to tilt things heavily in City’s favor, even if they are the visitors here and haven’t had the hottest run over their last five games either.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Man City

Option #1

  • Bet: Man City Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.50-1.72

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.46-1.66
