SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]
This weekās top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports ā the leader in Premier League score predictions
ā½ Nottingham Forest vs Brighton
Premier League
Saturday 01 Feb; 13:30 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: We like the look of the payouts on a couple of reasonably sure bets here.
CXSports says: Nottingham Forest is one of the strongest teams in the Premier League right now. Brighton, for its part, is heavily dependent on draws. The edge here goes to Forest with the possibility of Brighton pulling off one of its famous draws.
Score prediction: 2-1 for Nottingham Forest or a 2-2 draw.
Option #1
Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)
Odds Range: 1.70-1.76
Option #2
Bet: Double Chance (1X)
Odds Range: 1.36-1.37
ā½ Newcastle vs Fulham
Premier League
Saturday 01 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: A 1X on this wonāt be the biggest windfall youāve ever had, but at least it comes with some sort of guarantee of actually happening.
CXSports says: Newcastle is theoretically the stronger team here. But the last time these two met, Fulham pulled off an upset 3-1 win with a clinical attacking display. That might have been part luck, however, so maybe donāt expect much more for Fulham than a draw this time.
Score prediction: 2-1 for Newcastle or a 2-2 draw.
Option #1
Bet: Double Chance (1X)
Odds Range: 1.14-1.15
Option #2
Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)
Odds Range: 1.52-1.57
ā½ Everton vs Leicester City
Premier League
Saturday 01 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: Given these teams' proximity on the table, we think people are discounting the edge Everton really has.
CXSports says: Thereās not much separating these two on the table. But statistically, Everton is the superior team, particularly in defense. Weāre predicting a win for Everton, unless they slack off in defense like they did last time these two met. In that case, this game ends in a draw.
Score prediction: 1-0 for Everton or a 1-1 draw
Option #1
Bet: Double Chance (1X)
Odds Range: 1.16-1.16
Option #2
Bet: Everton Win
Odds Range: 1.72-1.73
ā½ Ipswich vs Southampton
Premier League
Saturday 01 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: Come on, who doesnāt love an Underdog vs. Underdog match?
CXSports says: Both teams in this fixture are struggling big time (19th and 20th on the table), although Ipswich does hold a slight edge in defense, along with a slightly stronger attack.
Score prediction: 2-1 for Ipswich
Option #1
Bet: Ipswich Win
Odds Range: 1.88-1.95
Option #2
Bet: Under/Over (Over 2.5)
Odds Range: 1.65-1.71
ā½ Bournemouth vs Liverpool
Premier League
Saturday 01 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: This is another one where we think people are discounting Liverpoolās edge, leaving us with some nice odds.
CXSports says: This oneās easy. Liverpoolās twice the team that Bournemouth is, no matter which way you slice it. If theyāre lucky, we might see Bournemouth score a goal this time.
Score prediction: 1-3 for Liverpool
Option #1
Bet: Liverpool Win
Odds Range: 1.66-1.72
Option #2
Bet: Over/Under (Over 3.5)
Odds Range: 2.04
HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT
Letās take a quick break from our predictions for a moment for a little half-time entertainment.
Oh, and speaking of half-time entertainment, letās see if you can answer this question.
Question: Who performed at the halftime show of the first NFL Super Bowl?
A: The Beatles
B: Elvis Presley
C: University marching bands
D: The Rolling Stones
Think you know the answer?
Read to the end to see if you were right.
SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]
ā½ Wolves vs Aston Villa
Premier League
Saturday 01 Feb; 18:30 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: This probably isnāt our #1 pick for a sure thing, but it should at least make for some interesting football.
CXSports says: Last time these two met, Villa barely came out on top of a game that could have easily ended in a draw. Coming into this, not much has changed, so expect a similar result.
Score prediction: 1-2 for Aston Villa or a 2-2 draw.
Option #1
Bet: Double Chance (X2)
Odds Range: 1.25-1.26
Option #2
Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Odds Range: 1.48-1.53
ā½ Manchester United vs Crystal Palace
Premier League
Sunday 02 Feb; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: Same as above ā this is another one thatās maybe a little too close to call but will be all the better to watch because of it.
CXSports says: There couldnāt be a more even matchup than this. Any way you look at it, these two are hard to tell apart. Expect this to end with a similar result to last time they met ā a draw.
Score prediction: 1-1 draw
Option #1
Bet: Draw
Odds Range: 3.28-3.50
Option #2
Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Odds Range: 1.57-1.62
ā½ Brentford vs Tottenham
Premier League
Sunday 02 Feb; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: The odds are giving Tottenham too big of a benefit of the doubt. A look at their last five games (4L, 1D) will tell you their real chances here.
CXSports says: Brentford technically has the edge here, but their shocking defensive record could come to bear in this game and allow Tottenham to sneak through a draw.
Score prediction: 2-1 for Brentford or a 2-2 draw
Option #1
Bet: Double Chance (1X)
Odds Range: 1.29-1.30
Option #2
Bet: Over/Under (Over 3.5)
Odds Range: 1.72-1.80
ā½ Arsenal vs Manchester City
Premier League
Sunday 02 Feb; 17:30 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: Because Man City managed to draw in this fixture last time, that doesnāt mean they can this time. Still, some people seem to think they can, leaving us with some nice odds on an Arsenal victory.
CXSports says: The last time these two met, the game ended in a draw. Will the same happen this time? Not likely. Arsenal was playing with just 10 men when Man City held them to a draw.
Score prediction: 2-1 for Arsenal
Option #1
Bet: Arsenal Win
Odds Range: 1.93-2.05
Option #2
Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Odds Range: 1.57-1.58
ā½ Chelsea vs West Ham
Premier League
Monday 03 Feb; 21:00 (Europe/Paris)
Why weāre watching: Because we love to watch one team absolutely destroy another. Especially when it pays.
CXSports says: Chelsea has a monster attack and the defense to back it up. At best, West Hamās got neither. This oneās in the bag for Chelsea.
Score prediction: 3-0 win for Chelsea
Option #1
Bet: Chelsea Win
Odds Range: 1.33-1.39
Option #2
Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)
Odds Range: 1.35-1.40
