And this week's best odds + score predictions

Good Morning ā˜€ļø,

It’s Lucas here, your Chief Predictions Officer at What Are the Odds?

This week in English football news, a Hull City vs Bristol City Championship fixture was delayed by a squirrel, Port Vale decided to turn their home pitch into a potato field ahead of an FA Cup clash, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta finally got with the times by shouting ā€œ6-7ā€ in the middle of a press conference.

But it’s not all fun and games in English football right now. Liverpool just paid Ā£60M to sign Jeremy Jacquet, who then went and injured himself before playing a single game with his new club, while Leicester City (remember them?) just got docked 6 points and now risk losing their place in the Championship.

Despite all the drama, it’s business as usual around here. So let’s take a look at what’s ahead in this week’s edition of What Are the Odds?

SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]

This week’s top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports — the leader in odds and score predictions.

⚽ Man City vs Salford City
šŸŸļø FA Cup
Saturday 14 February; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: These two have met once in the past, and that didn’t end too well for Saltford, who suffered a 0-8 defeat at the hands of Man City. But that shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, given the fact that they’re currently struggling just to keep up with the pace of League Two. Of course, we can’t forget that City is currently facing a few injury issues, which might limit how extreme the damage they inflict this time is. Although with that said, a slightly blunted Man City is still a far superior squad to Saltford on their best day.

  • Score prediction: 5-0 for Man City

Option #1

  • Bet: Man City Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.01-1.05

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (No)

  • Odds Range: 1.27-1.46

⚽ Arsenal vs Wigan
šŸŸļø FA Cup
Sunday 15 February; 17:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: Even in the Premier League, Arsenal’s almost in a world of their own this season. But drop them back into the FA Cup and force them to face off against ā€œlesserā€ teams, and they just get even stronger. So far, they’ve managed around 4 goals per game on average, all while conceding so few goals we can more or less say they don’t concede. As for Wigan, a much more modest League One side, they’re barely managing a single goal per game — nowhere near enough to pose a challenge here, even if Arsenal lets their otherwise faultless defenses slide for this game. As such, expect this to be an extremely one-sided game that ends in Arsenal’s favor by a big margin.

  • Score prediction: 4-0 for Arsenal

Option #1

  • Bet: Arsenal Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.01-1.08

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (No)

  • Odds Range: 1.33-1.55

⚽ Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich
šŸŸļø German Bundesliga
Saturday 14 February; 15:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: Werder Bremen aren’t having the best season. They haven’t won a single game in recent memory (3L, 2D in their last 5), they concede at almost twice the rate that they score (22 scored, 39 conceded), and, as it currently stands, they’re sitting right on the edge of a drop into the relegation zone. As for Bayern, their season’s been almost faultless if we ignore a recent slip-up against Augsburg that saw them drop their first game of the season. But that’s just a small bump in what’s otherwise been a faultless performance, so don’t expect anything less here.

  • Score prediction: 0-4 for Bayern Munich

Option #1

  • Bet: Bayern Munich Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.17-1.37

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (No)

  • Odds Range: 1.40-1.58

⚽ Burton Albion vs West Ham
šŸŸļø FA Cup
Saturday 14 February; 13:15 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: Burton’s had a pretty good FA Cup run so far. In the first three rounds, they racked up 14 goals — the most by a third-tier (or lower) club since the 1995-96 season. With that said, that performance might partly be a result of playing against lesser squads. After all, a quick look at Burton’s League One performance shows a much more average squad. As such, West Ham will likely have a relatively easy time in this one, particularly given their half-decent form in recent matches.

  • Score prediction: 1-3 for West Ham

Option #1

  • Bet: West Ham Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.20-1.40

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.40-1.59

HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT

On this day, February 12, 2019, the late, great Gordon Banks passed away.

SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]

⚽ Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad
šŸŸļø Spanish LaLiga
Saturday 14 February; 21:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: Historically, Real Madrid has been a brutal opponent for Real Sociedad, having won more than three times as many games in this fixture. In fact, the last time Sociedad managed a victory in this fixture was back in 2023. Since then, Real Madrid has won on all but one occasion — a draw early last year. And that performance is generally reflected in broader league results. Real Madrid is more or less tied with Barcelona for the top spot. Meanwhile, Sociedad’s just chilling in the mid-table with a perfectly balanced mix of results. In short, it doesn’t look like there’s much in Real Sociedad’s favor here, so expect a big show from Real Madrid here.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Real Madrid

Option #1

  • Bet: Real Madrid Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.20-1.40

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.51-1.74

⚽ Burnley vs Mansfield Town
šŸŸļø FA Cup
Saturday 14 February; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: There’s not much doubt about who’s the stronger side here, given the Premier League vs League One (third division) mismatch here, even if the EPL squad, Burnley, is currently conceding more goals than they’re scoring while Mansfield’s managing to stay positive. However, that’s on paper. The reality is, Mansfield can be a stubborn squad when they put their heads down and get to work. We’ve seen that in their track record of pulling of multiple draws against much tougher opponents. That could cause some complications for Burnley here. Not to the extent that Burnley’s at any serious risk of losing the match. But there is a chance Mansfield could manage to keep this one to a draw.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Burnley or a 1-1 Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Burnley / Draw)

  • Odds Range: 1.02-1.12

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 1.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.12-1.24

⚽ Bayer Leverkusen vs St. Pauli
šŸŸļø German Bundesliga
Saturday 14 February; 15:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: St. Pauli’s having the sort of season most teams would rather forget. They’re 2nd last in the Bundesliga, have more losses than they have wins and draws combined, and they’re not even managing to score a single goal per game (19 goals in 21 games). Leverkusen, on the other hand, are doing fine. Sure, they’re not topping the table, but they’re still managing to keep a strongly positive goal balance while delivering a much more positive blend of results (11W, 3D, 6L). When you throw all that in with the home advantage consideration, it’s pretty clear which way this game is headed.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Bayer Leverkusen

Option #1

  • Bet: Bayer Leverkusen Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.30-1.50

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.65-1.91

⚽ Grimsby Town vs Wolves
šŸŸļø FA Cup
Sunday 15 February; 14:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • CXSports says: While it’s become clear that the Wolves have no business being in the Premier League this season, they have at least shown enough promise that we can say with some confidence that they don’t belong in the fourth division. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for Grimsby — a fourth division (League Two) mid-table squad with a fairly average performance for a team in its position. That should make this a relative simple game for the Wolves to come in and walk away with a positive result. Of course, it might not be as easy as their 6-1 vs Shrewsbury (while Shrewsbury and Grimsby are both in the same league, Grimsby is better). But it should be enough to at least walk away with a result they can be proud of (for a change).

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Wolves

Option #1

  • Bet: Wolves Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.31-1.52

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.59-1.82
