SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]

This week’s top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports — the leader in odds and score predictions.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 13:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: With a clear edge for Arsenal here, these odds represent terrific value.

  • CXSports says: There’s one clear favorite here, and it’s not exactly a secret who it is. Arsenal’s overwhelming home dominance (no losses to Forest since 1989) and consistent scoring ability (91 PL goals last season, +62 GD) mean life will be difficult for Forest, even with their current attacking potential under Nuno Espírito Santo (and with talents like Wood and Anderson). As such, expect a high-tempo start, with Arsenal taking an early lead. Forest may respond if Arsenal continues to push forward aggressively (and might net a lucky goal), although they’ve got next to zero chance of matching Arsenal.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Arsenal

Option #1

  • Bet: Arsenal Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.28-1.41

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.81-1.91

Bournemouth vs Brighton
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: While this one’s too close to call, there’s a solid double chance play here.

  • CXSports says: This game's going to be tight. Both sides have been showing mixed form in their opening games. Bournemouth nabbed a win vs Wolves, and suffered two defeats by Brentford and Liverpool. Brighton, for its part, beat Manchester City, lost to Everton, and drew with Fulham. What we can say with some certainty is that both sides have historically delivered goals in this fixture (Over 2.5 in 50% of previous matches), which means we should expect a lively, competitive match, although there’s not enough between these two teams to say anyone really has a clear edge.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 or 1-2 for either side

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Bournemouth / Brighton)

  • Odds Range: 1.15-1.31

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.39-1.60

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Nice clear edge for Crystal Palace here with some really solid odds on offer!

  • CXSports says: Palace have opened the season with an unbeaten streak (1W-2D), which included a convincing 3-0 away victory over Aston Villa. That’ll have them full of confidence, which they’ll need given Sunderland’s strong return to the Premier League (also unbeaten) after eight years (which is, without doubt, partly thanks to their ~£180M summer spending spree). Expect this one to be a fast-paced, goal-open contest which will likely be decided by Palace’s sharper finishing, coupled with their clear home advantage.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 Crystal Palace

Option #1

  • Bet: Crystal Palace Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.51-1.67

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.76-2.02

Everton vs Aston Villa
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Past head-to-head history has people overestimating Villa’s chances here. That’s left some really juicy odds on a very likely Everton victory.

  • CXSports says: Aside from an opening defeat, Everton have had a reasonably solid start to the season (beating both Wolves and Brighton in their last two games). Aston Villa, on the other hand, are sitting near the bottom of the table (around 19th) with just 1 point from three matches. What’s worse, they’re yet to register a goal this season, all while conceding four! With that said, their record against Everton is hard to ignore, with two victories and a draw in their last three matches, although the most recent of these was in January when, arguably, Villa was in better shape than they are now. As such, expect Everton to continue their early-season run with a tight home performance.

  • Score prediction: 1-0 for Everton

Option #1

  • Bet: Everton Victory

  • Odds Range: 2.19-2.50

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (No)

  • Odds Range: 1.80-2.00

SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]

Fulham vs Leeds
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: There are some big odds available here if you’re willing to back a slightly shaky Fulham side.

  • CXSports says: Fulham has only picked up 2 points from 3 games so far this season, with zero wins on the board and two draws. That’s left them looking rather desperate in 18th in the table. With that said, they’re maybe not as down and out as that record might suggest, and Leeds could present an opportunity for Fulham to more than double their points on the board, even if Leeds might appear to be doing better based on a cursory glance at the table. Ultimately, we expect Fulham’s home advantage and usually consistent scoring to be just enough to outmatch Leeds’ inconsistent away form, although it will be close.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Fulham

Option #1

  • Bet: Fulham Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.78-1.93

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.70-1.95

Newcastle vs Wolves
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This game’s nothing special as far as odds and chances are concerned, but Newcastle’s clear edge here is still hard to ignore.

  • CXSports says: Newcastle haven’t had the best start to the season, with zero wins on the board. With that said, two of those games ended in draws, which is much better than the Wolves, who’ve started the season with three straight losses. As such, expect to see Newcastle taking to the field with an eagerness to capitalize on the opportunity to reset after a slow start to the season. They’ll be especially confident given their favorable head-to-head history in this fixture, coupled with their home advantage.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Newcastle

Option #1

  • Bet: Newcastle Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.36-1.46

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.72-1.93

West Ham vs Tottenham
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 18:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: With Tottenham’s reasonably clear edge here, these are close to being (but not quite) some of the best value odds this week.

  • CXSports says: Sitting in fourth on the ladder, Tottenham are coming into this game with some decent momentum. Their head-to-head record in this fixture also seems to be on their side. Of course, they are playing this one on the road, which might set them back a little, although their attacking credentials on the road should offset this somewhat. Of course, we can’t entirely rule out West Ham, even if they’ve had a much rougher start to the season, so don’t think this will be a clean, one-sided match by any measure — rather, expect to see a scrappy battle where Tottenham edges ahead by a single goal.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Tottenham

Option #1

  • Bet: Tottenham Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.95-2.15

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.46-1.67

Brentford vs Chelsea
🏟 English Premier League
Saturday 13 September; 21:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Chelsea’s so clearly superior here that the odds available are basically a gift — these are hands down the best value odds this week.

  • CXSports says: Chelsea is one of the Premier League’s most formidable sides, and their perfect start to the season has only helped confirm that. Between their organized play and a prolific attack, there are few in the League who can match them. Brentford, on the other hand, is considerably more inconsistent. While they can deliver at home, and have historically been competitive against Chelsea, their form right now (particularly defense) is far from being at its peak. As such, expect to see Chelsea serve Brentford a humiliating home-ground defeat.

  • Score prediction: 1-3 for Chelsea

Option #1

  • Bet: Chelsea Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.65-1.78

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.51-1.72

THE FINAL SCORE

Your weekly dose of inspiration, brought to you by Masters of Trivia.

When a player’s as successful as Ryan Giggs, it’s probably worth paying attention to what makes them tick.

Here’s a quote that might give us some insight.

Moral of the story?

If you want to succeed in anything, then you should first formulate it as a really simple goal.

Then, once you have it, use it as the driving force behind everything you do.

That’s how Gigg’s succeeded. And, if it worked for him, then there’s no reason it can’t work for you, too.
