⚽ Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City

• Why we’re watching: The actual statistical chances of Man City coming out on top here far outweigh the odds at the bookies. That makes Man City a solid value bet.

• CXSports says: Nottingham Forest has shown it can be reasonably solid in defense. We saw this in their goalless draw against Arsenal in recently. With that said, Manchester City boasts one of the more potent attacks in the league, particularly with Erling Haaland topping the scoring charts this season. What’s more, in their last head-to-head, City secured an easy 3-0 victory over Forest. In short, Forest’s defensive approach probably won’t be enough to hold off City’s attacking strength.

• Score prediction: 1-3 for Manchester City

• Odds Range: 1.85-1.95

⚽ Brighton vs Fulham

• Why we’re watching: There’s a massive value bet for Fulham here where their actual chances far outweigh what the market thinks.

• CXSports says: Both teams in this fixture have shown some strong form in recent games, with each posting four wins apiece in their last five matches. So what will tip the balance here? For starters, Brighton has a 50% win rate at home over their last six matches, while Fulham has been impressive on the road with an 83% win rate in their last six away games. Now add to that the fact that Fulham remains unbeaten in their last nine EPL meetings with Brighton, of which there were five wins and four draws. Given this, the edge clearly goes to Fulham.

• Score prediction: 1-2 for Fulham

⚽ Crystal Palace vs Ipswich Town

• Why we’re watching: Maybe not the most exciting play, but there are two solid options here with reasonable odds.

• CXSports says: Crystal Palace has demonstrated some improved form in recent games. In their last six matches, they’ve won four and scored 12 goals while only conceding five. Ipswich, on the other hand, struggled defensively with a large number of goals conceded, and they’ve failed to make up for that in attack. With that said, Palace only narrowly secured a 1-0 victory in their last head-to-head, so there’s a chance Ipswich might limit the damage in terms of goal difference.

• Score prediction: 1-0 for Crystal Palace

• Why we’re watching: This is the surest thing the EPL’s got to offer this week.

• CXSports says: Liverpool has been in unstoppable form all season and is now leading the league with a 13-point buffer. Southampton, on the other hand, is dead last on the table and has struggled with just about every aspect of its game, particularly defensively (more goals conceded than any other team in the league). And while this sets Liverpool up for an easy win, don’t expect it to be an absolute spanking — Liverpool will likely see this as more of a fun and easy rest day than a serious, Premier League-level game.

• Score prediction: 2-0 for Liverpool

⚽ Brentford vs Aston Villa

• Why we’re watching: While this one’s a little hard to call, it should at least deliver some competitive football.

• CXSports says: Brentford has had some mild challenges in defense this season compared to similarly ranked teams, although they’ve managed to offset that with a slightly stronger attack. Aston Villa, on the other hand, hasn’t been much better in defense but has failed to make up for that in their attack. That gives Brentford a slight edge coming into this game. However, we shouldn’t forget that the last time these two met, Villa came out on top 3-1 over Brentford.

• Score prediction: 2-1 for Brentford

That could make this a tight game, although Everton’s the only one coming into this game unbeaten in their last five matches. Further, the last time these two met, Everton took a convincing 2-0 victory over the Wolves.

• Score prediction: 1-2 for Everton or a 1-1 draw

• Why we’re watching: This one’s the second-most sure thing in the EPL this week.

• CXSports says: After a bit of a slump, Chelsea has managed to clean up its defensive play with the help of Moisés Caicedo. Meanwhile, Leicester City has struggled offensively, and their counterattacking approach has proven to be less than effective this season. Add to that the result of their last head-to-head, where Chelsea took a 2-1 win, and this game looks like it’s strongly in Chelsea’s favor.

• Score prediction: 2-0 for Chelsea

⚽ Tottenham vs Bournemouth

• Why we’re watching: People are underestimating Bournemouth here, leaving us with a solid value bet.

• CXSports says: Tottenham has had a somewhat disappointing campaign this season. That’s left it with a real need to secure victories if it wants to finish the season respectably. However, desperation can only take a team so far, and Bournemouth has arguably been much more convincing this season. Its disciplined defense, which left Tottenham goalless the last time these two met, is the perfect example.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has been rock solid defensively (lowest goals against tally in the league), and has been reasonably potent in attack, too. With that said, in their last head-to-head, United managed to force a penalty shootout to win against Arsenal in an FA Cup match. That could signal this will be a closer game than the rest of the stats are signaling.

• Score prediction: 0-1 for Arsenal

⚽ West Ham vs Newcastle United

• Why we’re watching: The market’s putting too much weight on the result from the last time these two met. That’s left some overvalued odds on Newcastle.

• CXSports says: West Ham is another side that’s faced defensive challenges this season (-15 GA) — a factor that’s contributed significantly to their relatively large number of losses this season. Meanwhile, Newcastle has shown attacking strength, and coupled that with a ‘good enough’ defense to maintain its reputation as a solid mid-table contender. With that said, West Ham took a 2-0 win over Newcastle last time these two met, although a repeat is highly unlikely. At best, West Ham might hold Newcastle to a draw.
