🚨 this is the end

But there’s plenty more odds to come

Good Morning ā˜€ļø,

It’s Lucas here, your Chief Predictions Officer at What Are the Odds?

That’s it. It’s decided. Arsenal are officially the Premier League Champions. And, depending on your allegiances, that’s either the best news you’ve heard all week… or the worst.

For those who missed it, Arsenal’s now 4 points in front of Man City. And, with just one round left this season, that means they’re guaranteed to finish at least 1 point in front.

And yeah, that also means that this week marks the end of our 2025-26 Premier League coverage. But don’t worry — we’ve got plenty in store in the weeks to come.

To give you a sneak peek:

  • Next week, we’ve got the UEFA Champions League Final. (Look out for our deep dive.)

  • The week after that, the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off. (And you can bet we’ll be covering that!)

But until then, here’s what’s up in this week’s edition of What Are the Odds?

  • This week’s top Premier League odds and predictions. 🦵⚽

  • A little ā€œArsenal don’t win cups… until they doā€ trivia. šŸŸļøāœØ

SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]

This week’s top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports — the leader in odds and score predictions.

⚽ Brighton vs Man United
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This one’s too close to call. But we have a bonus tip — the last 4 head-to-heads ended with both sides scoring.

  • CXSports says: This is one of those games where the table can be misleading. How? Well, United are the better side this season — they’ve got 68 points vs Brighton’s 53, 66 goals scored vs Brighton’s 52, and an undefeated five-match form of 4W/1D/0L vs Brighton’s 2W/1D/2L. But this needs a little context. United have already secured third place (they’re 5 points ahead of Villa), and with it, access to a much-coveted Champions League slot. Their top scorer (Å eÅ”ko) is also currently listed as unavailable, and their coach (Carrick) has already sold the season as a job that’s more or less done after their Forest win. Now compare that with Brighton, who are currently in 7th. A loss here could see them easily fall back into 10th place (and miss out on Europe entirely). And let’s not forget that their last two home games were both 3-0 victories. Now, admittedly, one of those 3-0 results was against Wolves. But the second was against Chelsea. All of that could see this one swing in Brighton’s favor. Of course, there are a lot of conditions going into the case for Brighton here — the home advantage, United’s missing scorer, Brighton’s desperation vs United’s ā€œjob doneā€ attitude, etc. As such, this could still end up as a game that plays out exactly as the table suggests. So while we’re tipping Brighton here, just remember that it’s a highly-conditional tip that comes with a big caveat.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Brighton

Option #1

  • Bet: Brighton Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.70-2.03

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.30-1.51

⚽ Burnley vs Wolves
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: We don’t expect quality soccer (by EPL standards) here. But there is a decent double-chance play here.

  • CXSports says: After spending an entire season at the bottom of the table, this match is the Wolves final chance for redemption — a victory here will catapult them all the way into 19th place and send Burnley plunging to the bottom. So, will we see a last-minute miracle from the Wolves? Honestly, we don’t know. Both teams are equally bad, with the only real points of difference being the facts that Burnley scores more, while the Wolves concede less. But in terms of overall goal balance, it more or less works out to a wash (well, there is a 4-goal difference, but by the time your balance is hovering around -40 for the season, those 4 goals are basically meaningless). As such, we’re going to call this as a ā€œcould go either wayā€ match. The chances of a draw are likely quite low — this is very likely to be a pride match where each team aims to finish a miserable season on a high note (and avoid the bottom of the table). But as for which team actually takes the victory — that we’ll have to wait until game day to find out.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 or 1-2 for either side

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Burnley / Wolves)

  • Odds Range: 1.15-1.33

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.35-1.65

⚽ Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: If you also believe that the caveats on Arsenal won’t impact the outcome of this game too much, then this one’s truly exceptional value.

  • CXSports says: Under regular circumstances, this match would belong to Arsenal, no questions asked. But this isn’t a normal match — they’re already the Premier League champions (they’ve got a 4-point lead over City) and have an upcoming Champions League final on 30 May to prepare for (we’ll tell you more about it in next week’s edition!). That could mean rotation, a little less aggression, and maybe even a little post-title-party looseness. Of course, even after we account for all that, Arsenal’s numbers are still so much better (82 points vs Palace’s 45, 69 goals scored to 40, and 26 conceded to 49) that Arsenal would probably still be competitive if they’re only playing at 50% — and we don’t expect them to slip that much. And let’s not forget that Palace’s last five matches have produced exactly 0 victories (against 2 draws and 3 losses) with a nice little 13 goals conceded. As such, we’re still tipping Arsenal as the strong favorite here… just maybe not as strongly as we usually would.

  • Score prediction: 0-2 for Arsenal

Option #1

  • Bet: Arsenal Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.60-1.90

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 1.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.13-1.22

⚽ Fulham vs Newcastle
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This one’s so balanced a draw’s looking much more probable than the odds suggest.

  • CXSports says: In theory, this one leans slightly in Newcastle’s favor — they’ve had the better run, both across their last 5, and across the full season. However, the differences here are marginal. Over the course of the last 5 games, Newcastle has 2 victories while Fulham only has 1, and both teams have been defeated twice, although Newcastle’s carrying more momentum owing to their undefeated 3-game streak leading into this (while Fulham’s been defeated twice in its last 3). The differences are also marginal in terms of overall stats — both are tied on 49 points, with Newcastle’s neutral goal difference being the only thing keeping it clear of Fulham, which has a -6 balance. And while it might be tempting to think that -6 balance is meaningful, don’t forget who’s got the home advantage here and what that means — at home, Fulham has maintained a +8 goal balance over the season. As such, this one has a very high probability of heading towards a draw.

  • Score prediction: 1-1 Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Draw

  • Odds Range: 3.10-3.90

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.37-1.55

HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT

If you’ve been a Premier League fan for a while now, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve probably seen the memes, merch, and general shitposting that’s been circulating around them for years.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Arsenal has won a title.

Far from it — they’ve got 13 English football league titles in total, 3 of which they won during the Premier League era. (This year will make it four.)

Those Premier League titles were all won in 1997-98, 2001-02, and 2003-04. And that last one was a very special one.

Let’s see if you know why with a quick quiz from our friends at Masters of Trivia.

Question: What made Arsenal’s 2003-04 particularly notable?

  • A: They attempted to save money by fielding 11 midfielders and politely asking opponents not to counterattack.

  • B: Every player was legally required to perform at least one unnecessary backheel per match under the terms of ArsĆØne Wenger’s contract.

  • C: They won the league entirely through emotional damage inflicted on Tottenham Hotspur F.C. fans.

  • D: They completed the entire Premier League season unbeaten and became known as ā€œThe Invincibles.ā€

SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]

⚽ Liverpool vs Brentford
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: With both sides having decent attacks and mediocre defenses, the BTTS play looks strong here.

  • CXSports says: At first glance, Liverpool looks good here. They are 5th with 59 points, have scored 62 goals, and have a solid 10W/5D/3L home record. However, there’s a big but here. They have conceded 52 goals this season, 10 of which came in their last five. Oh, and they also just lost 4-2 at Aston Villa. So while Brentford might be in 9th with fewer points and goals, they’ve at least got a defense that’s roughly comparable to Liverpool’s. Of course, that doesn’t entirely kill the case for Liverpool. After all, Brentford’s away record is 6W/2D/10L, and Liverpool has won 6 of the last 9 head-to-heads. As such, this is looking like it should swing in Liverpool’s favor, even if Brentford is more than capable of making them work for it.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Liverpool

Option #1

  • Bet: Liverpool Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.61-1.86

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.35-1.54

⚽ Man City vs Aston Villa
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This one’s a real meat and potatoes pick — decent odds on a decent pick.

  • CXSports says: Villa are going to be dangerous here. They already beat City 1-0 this season, and have scored 11 goals in their last five league matches, which means their offense is firing a little harder than their overall season stats might suggest. Of course, those 11 goals weren’t free — Villa’s conceded 10 in those five league games, and, over the course of the season, they’ve let allowed 26 goals in 18 games slip through. However, what could also make Villa particularly dangerous is the fact that City’s title hopes are gone. That could work one of two ways. Either City let’s the disappointment get them down enough that it affects their quality of play. Or, it removes enough pressure that they come out for one last hurrah where they really let loose and let their quality truly shine. Naturally, knowing which way that swings is going to have to wait for match day. But, with City’s superior quality and home advantage, there’s still a pretty good chance they’ll pull in front even if they don’t give it their all. What we’re less sure about is whether this ends in City edging it, or City stealing it.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Man City

Option #1

  • Bet: Man City Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.26-1.49

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.37-1.55

⚽ Tottenham vs Everton
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Tottenham’s form, home advantage, and sheer desperation make them exceptionally dangerous here.

  • CXSports says: This one’s make or break for the Spurs. With just two points between them and West Ham, anything less than a victory could be disastrous. So what are their odds here? Let’s start with the ugly — they only have 2 home wins from 18 games this season and have conceded 31 goals at home. Everton, on the other hand, has a better away record than Spurs have a home record — 7W/5D/6L away, along with 21 scored, 22 conceded. That alone makes this dangerous for Tottenham, even if Everton theoretically has nothing left to play for (their goal difference means they won’t nab a euro spot, even if they can equal Chelsea’s 52 points leading into this round). Fortunately for Tottenham, Everton are not in form — they’ve got 0 wins in their last five, along with 12 conceded. And given the fact that Tottenham’s league form is actually better than Everton’s (2W/2D/1L with 7 scored, 6 conceded). Now throw in the fact that 3 of the last 5 H2Hs ended in their favor, and this starts looking like Tottenham has a real chance here. Whether that means they use that chance to play it safe (they only need a draw to survive) or angle for a victory, however, is another question. As such, we’re hedging either way.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Tottenham or 1-1 Draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Tottenham / Draw)

  • Odds Range: 1.12-1.30

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.51-1.71

⚽ West Ham vs Leeds
šŸŸļø English Premier League
šŸ“… Sunday 24 May; 17:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: We’re not 100% sure about West Ham’s chances here, but there’s a very good chance both teams net a goal here.

  • CXSports says: This is West Ham’s last chance. If they can get a victory here (and the Spurs don’t get a point), they’ll climb out of the relegation zone. And while their recent form has been way more ā€œsurvival-football sludgeā€ than ā€œserious threatā€ (1W/1D/3L), a final-day desperation match at home against a Leeds side that is safe, heavily banged up, and carrying poor away form (only 2 away victories in 18 games with 20 scored and 32 conceded) might be just what the doctor ordered. Of course, while Leeds might struggle to win on the road, that doesn’t mean they’re easily beaten. They are, after all, unbeaten in their last five, and have scored 10 goals in that run. However, with injuries stacking up (especially with Okafor and Stach now unavailable), West Ham might just have the window of opportunity they desperately need. All they have to do is avoid messing it up.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for West Ham

Option #1

  • Bet: West Ham Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.65-1.92

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.50-1.67
