SCORE PREDICTIONS [FIRST HALF]

This week’s top tips and score predictions, brought to you by CXSports — the leader in odds and score predictions

⚽ Leicester City vs Brentford
English Premier League
Friday 21 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Because we love when there’s a major mismatch in a fixture but the market still leaves some decent odds for us to take advantage of.

  • CXSports says: Leicester’s in a major slump. They’ve lost 16 of their 25 games this season. Put that up against Brentford’s reasonably stable mid-table competitiveness, and throw in the fact the last time these two met the game ended with an easy victory for Brentford. That sounds like the recipe for a one-sided game, even if neither team’s the strongest in the league.

  • Score prediction: 1-3 for Brentford

Option #1

  • Bet: Brentford Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.96-2.05

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.46-1.50

⚽ Everton vs Manchester United
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 13:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: ā€œHistoryā€ has people giving Man United too much of a benefit of the doubt. That’s left some massive value odds on Everton.

  • CXSports says: Last time these two met, Man United toppled Everton in a dominant 4-0 display. Since then, Everton has found a little more form, while Man United has been in a free fall. That should give us a very different result this time around.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Everton

Option #1

  • Bet: Everton Victory

  • Odds Range: 2.50-2.60

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.74-1.80

⚽ Arsenal vs West Ham
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This is probably the most sure thing all week.

  • CXSports says: Arsenal aren’t topping the table, but they’re not far off it. That should tell you all you need to know about them. As for West Ham, they’ve got one of the leakier defenses in the league. To date, they’ve conceded 47 goals and, with a goal average of -18, haven’t made up for that deficit in their attack. This one will be easy for Arsenal.

  • Score prediction: 3-1 for Arsenal

Option #1

  • Bet: Arsenal Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.25-1.29

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.54-1.58

⚽ Fulham vs Crystal Palace
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Some decent odds on a reasonably certain outcome.

  • CXSports says: Crystal Palace seems to have had a little uptick in form recently. However, we’re not convinced it’s enough to make them a serious competitor against stronger sides like Fulham. With that said, expect a modest scoreline — Palace won’t be letting this one get too out of hand.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Fulham

Option #1

  • Bet: Fulham Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.97-2.05

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 1.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.23-1.27

⚽ Bournemouth vs Wolves
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: This will be an easy win for Bournemouth. Therefore, it will be an easy win for us.

  • CXSports says: Both of these teams have been a bit of a surprise this season but for very different reasons. Bournemouth, for its part, has been performing well above expectations and is now a clear contender for the European spots. Wolves, on the other hand, are going to be lucky to avoid relegation. This game ends in Bournemouth’s favor.

  • Score prediction: 1-0 for Bournemouth

Option #1

  • Bet: Bournemouth Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.55-1.61

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (No)

  • Odds Range: 2.01-2.05

HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT

I gotta admit, I still can’t get over that opening photo. What a talented photographer! šŸ“·

On that note, let’s celebrate this little trivia break with a quick question about David Hockney, another very talented photographer (among many other things).

Question: In which artistic field did David Hockney NOT significantly work?

  • A: Painting

  • B: Sculpture

  • C: Printmaking

  • D: Photography

Think you know the answer?

Read to the end to see if you were right.

SCORE PREDICTIONS [SECOND HALF]

⚽ Ipswich vs Tottenham
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: While we’re not convinced this quite classifies as a sure thing, it’s not far from it. The available odds make it mighty tempting, too.

  • CXSports says: Tottenham’s been fairly ordinary this season, but a two game winning streak coming into this match could be the signs of a turnaround. In any case, Ipswich are hopelessly out of their depths, so whether the Spurs are really on the up or not, they’ll have no problems in this game.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Tottenham

Option #1

  • Bet: Tottenham Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.90-1.96

Option #2

  • Bet: Over/Under (Over 2.5)

  • Odds Range: 1.45-1.50

⚽ Southampton vs Brighton
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 16:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: While this won’t be the highest quality soccer the league has to offer, it is one of the better paying sure things.

  • CXSports says: Brighton has been a steady mid-table competitor, albeit with a habit of relying a little too heavily on draws. Fortunately for them, Southampton’s got next to zero hope in this game if their track record is any indication — 20 losses against just 2 wins and 3 draws for the season.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Brighton

Option #1

  • Bet: Brighton Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.53-1.60

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.56-1.56

⚽ Aston Villa vs Chelsea
English Premier League
Saturday 22 Feb; 18:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: We’re going long and backing Chelsea for the great odds. But a double chance on this will still net you a tidy windfall.

  • CXSports says: While Aston Villa’s still a fundamentally solid side, they seem to have been overwhelmed by their dual EPL/Champions League commitments this season. Curiously, they don’t seem to have regained their old form now their Champions League campaign is over. That leaves Chelsea as the slight favorite here, with an equal chance of a draw.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Chelsea or a 1-1 draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Chelsea Victory

  • Odds Range: 2.31-2.45

Option #2

  • Bet: Double Chance (Draw / Chelsea Victory)

  • Odds Range: 1.40-1.40

⚽ Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest
English Premier League
Sunday 23 Feb; 15:00 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: There’s some solid odds on a reasonably sure Newcastle victory in this game.

  • CXSports says: What a season Forest has had. Now sitting in the top three and looking like they might just hold, they’ve been a formidable opponent. Newcastle, for its part, isn’t too far off the pace, but has a few small shortcomings when compared to their opponents in this game. The edge thus goes to Forest.

  • Score prediction: 2-1 for Newcastle

Option #1

  • Bet: Newcastle Victory

  • Odds Range: 1.68-1.73

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.50-1.55

⚽ Manchester City vs Liverpool
English Premier League
Sunday 23 Feb; 17:30 (Europe/Paris)

  • Why we’re watching: Who cares about the odds when it’s title defender vs title contender? With that said, the odds aren’t bad either.

  • CXSports says: Leading the league with just one loss for their entire campaign, Liverpool is the team to beat this season. Meanwhile, Man City has seemingly fallen from grace, although they have stabilized in their last five or so matches. That could make this a tight one, although the edge is still in Liverpool’s favor.

  • Score prediction: 1-2 for Liverpool or a 1-1 draw

Option #1

  • Bet: Double Chance (Draw / Liverpool Victory)

  • Odds Range: 1.21-1.38

Option #2

  • Bet: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

  • Odds Range: 1.30-1.38
